SCBWI north: Linda Newbery at the lincoln children's book festival

Date and Time: Saturday, 13 May 2006, 12 noon during the Lincoln Book Festival. Linda Newbery will also be on the professional panel in the Old Library from 1.30-3.30pm

Description: SCBWI North presents the Carnegie Medal nominated and Lincolnshire Young People's Book Award nominee, author Linda Newbery. Crossing lines, crossing categories, crossing borders - crafting fiction for young people. Presented in partnership with the Lincoln Book Festival. She has written extensively for young readers of all ages, is a regular reviewer of fiction, and tutors writing courses for children, teenagers and adults. She is currently a judge for the Whitbread Prize and her two previous novels, The Shell House and Sisterland were both nominated for the prestigious Carnegie Medal. Her new work, Set In Stone will be out 4 May 2006. Michael Morpurgo is patron of the Lincoln Book Festival.
