Sarah McIntyre makes picture books and comics with three friends in an old police station, complete with cells and a ghost! David Fickling launched her career by commissioning her to write and draw a weekly comic strip about a sheep and a rabbit, called Vern and Lettuce. The collected strips form a book of the same name, launching this autumn, along with When Titus Took the Train, published by Oxford University Press.

Her first picture book with David Fickling, Morris the Mankiest Monster has gone through three hardback print runs, and picked up the Bishop's Stortford Picture Book Award, as well as being shortlisted for this year's Sheffield Children's Book Award.

She has spent the last few months running around Britain in a pink wig, tiara, white boots and silver space dress to promote her alien-themed first picture book with Scholastic UK, You Can't Eat a Princess.
